Current Reads + Tunes

Reading and Music bring so much joy and peace to my soul.

They're my way to escape the every day.

I try to read as often as I possibly can. You'll usually find my books looking a bit beat up by the time I'm done reading them because I usually carry them around in my purse so that I can read them every chance I get.
I'm currently reading Skin Cleanse by Adina Grigore and Love Does by Bob Goff.

Why read Skin Cleanse? Well, I have roseasea. It's something I just started dealing with about 8 or so months ago and if I'm speaking honestly, it's really hard to manage. There's really nothing known to cure it or make it go away so you just have to try different things out so that you can figure out how to manage it best.

I've also been trying for some time now (I'll be sharing a post about this soon) to get my family, our home and myself away from using products that have really harsh chemicals in them and overall just eating cleaner. I will say it's a lot easier said then done. It really does take a lot of time to find alternatives and then you have to go through the trial period to see if the product works for what you need it for. So for now, when it comes to skin I'm hoping that Skin Cleanse will guide me through healing my skin (and learning how to care for my families) from the inside out.

Love Does, is a book in which it's title says and explains it all. LOVE. Bob Goff uses his love and turns it into action. Each day he takes his love and turns it into meaningful opportunities that make faith simple and real. I read Everybody Always, which is another book Bob wrote about LOVE but about learning how to love in a world full of setbacks and difficult people. These books have both been life transforming for me. I have learned so much about my faith and things in which I can do (and should do every day) to strengthen it. I definitely recommend picking up both books. You won't be disappointed.

As for music, I've been in a mellow mode lately. Listening to what I would call soulful tunes that really move me.

Tons of Florence and The Machine. I recently saw them in concert and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!
Lauren Daigle. Man that women's voice gets me every time. We're going to see her in concert in January. I'm so psyched.
Sia, there's almost always a Sia tune on my playlist but lately I've been listening to several.
An oldie but still a goodie, Sara Bareilles.
I'm loving John Mayer's new song...
Also digging, Ghostly Kisses. This is what you'll usually find me doing yoga to. Super chill music.

So now you tell me... what books and tunes are you enjoying these days?!

xx
