November | Monthly Goals

We all have them. Whether they're long term or short, they're still goals we want to accomplish in our lives.

I love setting goals for myself, I always have. They serve as a challenge and motivate me; however that wasn't always the case.

I used to set goals in my head that in the end I could never live up to. They were always asking too much of me, in too short of a time frame and I couldn't keep up. It was so frustrating to me and even depressing at times. With time and much thought however, I was able to figure out how I could still set those goals while at the same time allowing myself to actually accomplish them.

I started setting monthly goals, realistic goals! Goals that allowed me to take on every day tasks that would in the end bring me to accomplishing those longer term goals. I tell yah' the lightbulb in my head had finally turned on and I was actually starting to get some where.

I know I'm not alone in this struggle. Our lives get so busy and sometimes it feels as if we're a hamster on a hamster wheel going around and around in circles, getting absolutely no where. We've all been there or we're possibly there now but there's always a way out.

Every month, I'll be sharing my monthly goals here on the blog. They're attainable goals that focus in on every area of my life and those are the type of goals we should all set for ourselves. My hope in sharing this is that I'll encourage others like myself to do the same for themselves. Self love baby! Love truly makes the world go round.

So what's my November going to consist of?

Lots more blogging thats for sure. It's something I absolutely love to do yet something I don't allow myself time for. So that has got to change and that's why its apart of this months goals.

I've also got a date night on the list because if you have kids you know that this is something you truly have to schedule in. It's so easy to fall into the rut of not giving you and your partner alone time together and that's truly key to keeping your relationship and bond strong so you've got to make it a point to do that.

Reading.. reading is definitely on my list because it's something I really enjoy. The bookstore is truly my happy place. So I'm making it a point to read one new book a month (FYI, I'll be adding a bookclub to the blog where I'll be sharing one book a month so be sure to check back for that soon).

Next up on the list is, drinking more water. This is one I'm sure we all need to add to our daily to do list.

The next one is a big one for me, "start celebrating small victories". I don't celebrate my victories at all. I hold my joy in and that is not ok. Every victory should be celebrated because it took time and effort to get there. So make sure to pat yourself on the back. You deserve it.

And then we have the dreaded haircut. Man, it has been about a year and a half since I chopped my hair off. I know you may laugh about this one but I've always had a fear of haircuts. Ha! Yes I know right, haircuts?! But its true. So cutting my hair never came easy to me but it's on my to do list to actually get done TOMORROW! Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Tackle ONE home project. I usually either tackle several. That's super overwhelming and I need to slow down. So the goal is to choose ONE home project a month and tackle it. I'll be sharing which project I chose on the blog soon ;)

Self-care. Man is it easy to put yourself on the back burner when you have kids, marriage, business, etc. to juggle on the daily. I don't take care of myself enough and I truly need to because at the end of the day if I'm not well then no one else or anything else will be because I won't be able to take care of it. So my health must come first.

And last but not least is Fresh Wood Studio. I'm making it a goal to create one new fresh piece for FWS a month because after all the word "fresh" is in our brand name so my goal is to keep things fresh and create new pieces for Fresh Wood Studio on a monthly basis.

So go for it. Set those goals, have fun with it and remember it's OK if you don't meet all of them; you always have next month to tackle it.
